Good deeds day. (8+)

Good deeds day. (8+)

When Liza woke up in the morning, her mother was already doing something in the kitchen. Liza wanted to approach her unexpectedly and scare her, but for some reason her mother never gets scared.

As usual, her mother says in the morning,‘Liza, please go have a wash! Liza, please make the bed! Liza, please tidy up your room!’

Liza considers all these tasks as useless, but she has to obey.

So, breakfast was ready. There's no need to say that someone might want to eat. As usual, Liza and her mother had breakfast. Mother asked Liza to wash the dishes. Mother always has to ask Liza about household chores. Liza has washed but only her own plate. Why do I have to wash mother's plate? Mother's plate belongs to her. Liza thought that she couldn’t be bothered about washing some extra dishes.Liza wanted to run outside as quickly as possible and join her girlfriends or watch cartoons.

After breakfast mother announced, ‘Today is a “Good Deeds Day!’

‘I understand, mommy! I will do a zillion good deeds today!’- Liza exclaimed and ran outside to play with her girlfriends.

So, mother stayed home to do household chores.

Soon Liza rushed home, exclaiming, ‘Mother, there are hungry kittens there. May I give them your porridge? You still have some left.’

‘Okay, treat the kittens,’ - mother agreed.

Some time later, Liza ran back home again, ‘Mother, please give me a hundred rubles.’

‘What do you need the money for?’ - Mother was surprised.

‘I want to treat my girlfriend with crisps. Today is a day of kindness,’ Liza said hastily.

‘Okay. Here you are.’ And mother gave the money to Liza. Liza thanked her mother, took the money and ran away.

Then Liza came home for hydrogen peroxide and plaster. She wanted to treat a wound of one of her girlfriends. Then she had to reconcile the girls who had quarreled.

All day long Lisa ran and played with her girlfriends. In the evening, she came back home and immediately asked for food. Of course, dinner was ready. Liza was eating and telling her mother how much fun she had and how interesting her day was, and how many good deeds she did.

Mother sat silently and looked sadly at her daughter. Liza saw her mother's sad face and asked, ‘Mother, aren’t you happy for me?’

‘I’m happy, dear Liza, I’m happy,’- her mother answered sadly. ‘You have been doing good deeds all day.’ Only... only...I wasn’t among those who were in your kind day.

Liza opened her mouth in surprise. She did not expect such a turn of events because she believed that she was a good girl all day and did a lot of good deeds. And then it dawned on her that she had completely forgotten about her mother.

‘Forgive me, my dear mother,’ - Liza hugged her mother and burst into tears. ‘Please, declare tomorrow’s day as a ‘Good Deeds Day’ again.’

‘Okay, my dear daughter. I believe in you. Tomorrow will be a “Good Deeds Day” for me, and I have so many things to do.’ A smile hovered over her lips.
