Shustri’s good looks (8+)
In one village there lived a piglet named Shustrya. By the way, his name is derived from the adjective agile and Shustrya really lived up to his name. He had 11 brothers and sisters and, ofcourse, a mum-pig. And they all had a housekeeper - Aunt Katya. Anyway, first things first. Let’s start from day one.
Aunt Katya had a pig called Piggy. Piggy had 12 piglets, but only two of them had names - Poohlya and Shustrya. Shustrya was the fastest, agile, as we mentioned above. He was born first and being the first, he was always the first to go everywhere. Poohlya was the fattest and clumsiest. He was born second, and the other 10 were born after Pukhlya and Shustrya, and it happened so quickly that they did not have time to think up names for them. However, no one took offence. Everyone lived cheerfully and carefree, in general, like piglets. When 12 piglets were born, Aunt Katya was shocked:
‘Oh, ho-ho-ho! How am I going to manage with such a horde of piglets?!’- she was constantly complaining.
But, nevertheless, she managesto cope with the chores. From morning till evening, she is catering for Mummy Pig.
All day long the piglets run around the yard. When they play hide-and-seek, they hide behind Mummy Pig, and then they forget that they have hidden, and then they forget to seek. When they play tag, they forget who they have to chase, why they have to chase and what it means to chase at all. Everyone has fun, and most importantly, it's such a ruckus all the time.
One day Shustrya found a hole in the fence and, without thinking twice for a long time, quickly slipped through it. And there it is: freedom! Shustrya rushed away from the barn andtheir yard. For an hour he ran round the lawn in front of the lake. He was tired. He was thirsty and, of course, he wanted to eat. He suddenly remembered how good his mummy's milk was. But he wanted to enjoy himself even more.
Shustrya looked around and saw the lake nearby. How come he had not noticed it before? Shustryarushed up to a small bridge. The water on the lake was crystal clear and transparent. He looked down and saw the reflection of... Puhlya. Shustrya was very surprised. Puhlya was looking at him with a chubby little face, a snout and cheerful piggy eyes. But what is he doing here? - thought Shustrya. - All right! Let him stay! - Shustryawas wagging his tail. It meant that it was more fun together.
Then he looked at the snout, which was sticking out in the water in a peculiar way, and thought: ‘What is this snout for?’
‘Probably to smell his mother's milk!’ - he answered proudly to himself. ‘And what are eyes for?’- Shustryapondered again.
‘Probably, to see his mum from morning and all day long’.
‘What are ears for?’ - Shustrya began to scrutinise his little ears.
‘Probably to hear how pleasantly mummy grunts’ - Shustrya tried to imitate his mummy's grunt.
‘What's the mouth for?’ - Shustrya opened his mouth to admire his pink tongue.
‘Probably to grunt and drink mummy's milk’ - Shustrya licked his lips, suddenly remembering that it was time to eat properly.
Then Shustrya suddenly paid attention to his belly button. He thought about why he needed a belly button, and suddenly he exclaimed,‘No doubt, I need it for beauty!’
He even grunted, out of pride, almost like an adult, ‘How clever I am after all! The smartest Shustrya in the world! Only I could guess what the belly button was for!’
And then Shustrya shrieked like a piglet and jumped up, because he felt a sharp pain on his bottom.
With his wonderful ears he also heard Aunt Katya screaming, ‘You wretched little piglet! You silly creature! Where have youbeen?!’
She wanted to smack Shustrya with a slipper, but he lived up to his name, didn’t he?
Finally, Shustrya was taken into the yard with a squeal and a loud grunt, and Aunt Katya fixed the hole in the fence the same day. So poor Shustrya couldn't run away from his yard anymore, but he wasn't worried at all. There were his mum and 11 other merry piglets.
He grew up fastto be a huge pig, far from being agile any longer.
